Studio & Garden

Steve Gevurtz Studio and Sculpture Gardens are situated 2 miles south of Sandpoint, Idaho on pristine Kootenai Bay located at the Northern tip of Lake Pend Oreille. Sandpoint is about 50 miles South of Canada and 50 miles North of Coeur d Alene Idaho. The Lake is the second largest in the Pacific Northwest, stretching 40+ miles Southeast toward Montana. Sandpoint bordered on the South by the lake and on the North by beautiful Schweitzer Mountain Resort, a 2,700 acre ski resort just Northwest of town.

Work began on the sculpture gardens in 2001 and has continued, adding additional sculpture pieces and landscape features each year. The gardens are available to the public during the annual Sandpoint Artist’s Studio Tour and by private appointment. For an appointment to see either the Studio or Gardens contact Steve at 509-981-9215. The garden also serves as an ideal setting for landscape and wild life photography and plain air painting. Artists and photographers visit frequently to capture images of the Monet inspired lily Ponds, lush landscaping of native plants or the multitude of Bald eagles, Osprey, Blue Herons, and other wildlife frequently seen fishing from the lake on the shore of the property. The sculpture Studio and Sculpture Gallery are located on the lower level of the main house at the top of the gardens.
